Scholarships for Currently Enrolled Students

Recipients must be full-time students with a declared major in the Department of Agriculture at Illinois State University. Recipients must have an established grade point average at Illinois State University. Awards are made annually in May.

Available Scholarships

The John Leatherbury Scholarship funded by 1st Farm Credit Services

  • Awards up to $3,000 per year (distributed at $1,500 per semester). Demonstrated strong academic performance based on high school, college, and/or university academic performance, ACT score, and other indicators.
  • May request that financial need also be considered
  • Interest in agricultural finance, communications, or marketing is a plus

Paul A Funk Foundation Freshmen Scholarship ($1,000)

  • This scholarship is awarded to the sophomore agriculture major with the best academic record during his/her freshman year at Illinois State University.
  • To be eligible, a student must have completed at least 30 hours but less than 60 hours with at least 30 graded hours at Illinois State University during his/her freshman year.
  • Achievements only during freshman year will be considered

Paul A. Funk Foundation Sophomore Scholarship ($1,000)

  • This scholarship is awarded to the junior agriculture major with the best academic record during his/her sophomore year at Illinois State University.
  • To be eligible, a student must have completed at least 60 total hours but less than 90 hours and at least 30 graded hours at Illinois State University during his/her sophomore year.
  • Achievements only during sophomore year will be considered

Paul A. Funk Foundation Junior Scholarship ($1,000)

  • This scholarship is awarded to the senior agriculture major with the best academic record during his/her junior year at Illinois State University.
  • To be eligible, a student must have completed at least 90 total hours and at least 30 graded hours during his/her junior year at Illinois State University.
  • Achievements only during the junior year will be considered

GROWMARK Scholarship (3 - $1,000 each)

  • Academic excellence
  • Commitment to agriculture
  • Recipient must attend following Growmark Annual Meeting

ADM Entering & Continuing Student Scholarship Program ($1,000 to $2,000 each)

  • Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen or transfer students or continuing students enrolling or enrolled in the Department of Agriculture at Illinois State University.
  • Academic achievement
  • Leadership and citizenship
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 at Illinois State for continuing students

Agriculture Faculty Scholarship ($500)

  • Current or former State FFA officer or Section President
  • Concurrent participation in a departmental club or Agriculture Associates
  • Minimum 2.5 grade point average (4.0 scale)

Agriculture Alumni Association Scholarship ($1,000)

  • Academic excellence
  • Leadership/participation in Department/College/University activities

Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA) Scholarship ($500)

  • Sophomore or junior standing
  • Interest in farm management and/or rural appraisals, as exhibited by courses taken
  • Academic excellence
  • Recipient expected to attend ISPFMRA Annual Meeting Banquet

Harvey S. Woods Scholarship ($500)

  • Academic excellence
  • Financial need

Jim McKee Scholarship ($500)

  • Full-time student
  • Successfully completed 30 or more semester hours
  • Academic excellence
  • Dedication to agriculture as exhibited by research, special problems, etc.

Doris-Glenn Hextell Agriculture Scholarship ($500)

  • Financial need
  • Academic excellence
  • Participation in departmental and university activities
